New Delhi: The Minister for Road Transport & Highways Nitin Gadkari was in Patna, Bihar to inaugurate the japanese flank of reconstructed Mahatma Gandhi Setu over River Ganga in Hajipur. He laid the inspiration stone of nationwide freeway tasks price Rs 13,585 crores as per a PTI report. Ahead of the inauguration, the Union Minister was noticed in a bus at Patna airport with different Ministers of Bihar together with Shandilya Giriraj Singh, Tarkishore Prasad and Renu Devi.

Gadkari additionally appealed to Chief Minister Nitish Kumar to arrange industrial clusters and sensible cities alongside the expressways in the state.
The 5,750-metres-long Mahatma Gandhi Setu was inaugurated in 1982 by the then prime minister Indira Gandhi because the nation’s longest river bridge. It underwent repairs from 1999 to 2016, when the Centre permitted its reconstruction plan.
Gadkari had on July 31, 2020 flagged off visitors on the western flank of the reconstructed bridge, the lifeline between North and South Bihar.
The complete MG Setu reconstruction venture was executed at a value of Rs 1,742 crore.
He additionally laid the inspiration stone for 10 different tasks, together with the four-lane greenfield 124-km Munger-Bhagalpur-Mirza Chowki freeway and the six-lane 70-km Aurangabad-Chordaha freeway during the day.
Addressing the gathering, the chief minister stated, “The Bihar authorities has already fast-tracked the continued development of all mega highway, bridge and freeway tasks and officers have been instructed to make sure completion inside the specified timeframe. The state administration can be very particular about upkeep of roads, bridges and highways.”
“We are grateful to Gadkari Ji for sanctioning a number of mega highway, bridge and freeway tasks in Bihar, and in addition for finishing a number of main tasks,” he added.
Gadkari landed at Patna airport round 11.30 am and met Kumar at his official residence, after which went to Hajipur for the occasion.
