Paniolo Power Company, a subsidiary of Parker Ranch, and Innergex Renewable Energy are creating a 30-MW solar project on the primary island of Hawaii.
The Hale Kuawehi Solar Project might be one of the primary utility-scale solar farms on the Big Island, decreasing reliance on imported fossil fuels and advancing the state-wide aim to supply 100% of our electrical energy from renewable power sources by 2045. The solar + storage facility might be composed of 30 MWAC of photovoltaic panels on single-axis trackers plus 120 MWh of battery power storage throughout roughly 300-acres, situated close to Parker Ranch’s industrial park, off of Mamalahoa Highway.
The Public Utilities Commission accepted the 25-year energy buy settlement with Innergex in 2019 to ship electrical energy to Hawaiian Electric. The project may also generate almost 20% of Hawaii’s baseload electrical energy necessities.
The Hale Kuawehi project will break floor in early 2022 with a business operation date slated for the top of the 12 months. The project will present a number of layers of advantages to the group and inflows via tax revenues for reinvestment within the Island and job creation. Innergex is presently creating its group advantages package deal and conducting outreach to native non-profit organizations.
