The Punjab and Haryana High Court stayed Tajinder Pal Bagga’s arrest until subsequent hearing in particular midnight hearing on Saturday, hours after a Mohali courtroom issued a non-bailable arrest warrant in opposition to him. Justice Anoop Chitkara will took up Bagga’s petition in an pressing hearing at his residence.
“Punjab and Haryana HC directs no coercive step in opposition to Tajinder Pal Singh Bagga,” his counsel was quoted as saying by information company PTI. Earlier in the day, the courtroom of Judicial Magistrate Ravtesh Inderjit Singh issued the arrest warrant in opposition to Bagga in reference to a case registered final month.
The Punjab Police had booked Tajinder Pal Singh Bagga on the fees of constructing provocative statements, selling enmity and prison intimidation. The case was registered on a grievance of AAP chief Sunny Ahluwalia, a resident of Mohali.
The FIR registered on April 1 referred to Bagga’s remarks on March 30, when he was a part of a BJP youth wing protest outdoors the residence of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.
