The federal government on Wednesday withdrew the Private Information Safety Invoice, 2019, and might be introducing a brand new Invoice.
The Invoice has been withdrawn to supply for a brand new invoice within the gentle of the suggestions made by the Joint Committee of Parliament.
Withdrawing the Invoice, the Ministry of Electronics and Info Expertise Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw informed the members of the Joint Parliamentary committee that 81 amendments have been proposed and 12 suggestions have been made “in the direction of a complete authorized framework”.
“Contemplating the report of the JCP, govt withdraws PDP 2019, to current new Invoice.

The Invoice was launched on December 11, 2019. It was referred to the committee for examination and the report was offered to the Lok Sabha on December 16, 2021.
