PARIS: French President Emmanuel Macron‘s allies have been set to lose their majority in parliament after elections on Sunday, dealing a serious blow to the centrist chief and his second-time period programme, projections from 5 polling companies confirmed.
Macron’s “Ensemble” (Together) coalition was on monitor for 200-260 seats, brief of the 289 wanted for a majority within the National Assembly.
The left-wing NUPES alliance was set to win 149-200 seats, whereas Marine Le Pen’s far-proper National Rally made main beneficial properties and was heading in the right direction for 60-102 seats.
