Eight shot in Oakland, one fatally, in California’s third mass capturing in as many days

Eight folks have been shot – one fatally – in Oakland Monday night, police there say – the third mass capturing in as many days in California and second within the Bay Space on Monday alone.

Police say officers have been despatched to analyze a ShotSpotter activation – gunfire picked up by an automatic system – and “discovered there was a capturing between a number of people.”

The identification of the individual whose life was taken was being withheld pending notification of subsequent of kin.
