Comment: NSAC Responds to House Passage of FY 2023 Agriculture Spending Bill

Washington, DC, June 23, 2022 – Today, in response to the House Appropriations Committee markup of the fiscal 12 months (FY) 2023 Agriculture, Rural Development, Food and Drug Administration, and Related Agencies Appropriations invoice the National Sustainable Agriculture Coalition (NSAC) issued the next remark, attributable to Eric Deeble, NSAC Policy Director. This invoice funds the operations of the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) and offers assets to many of the packages supported by NSAC members.

“The National Sustainable Agriculture Coalition (NSAC) applauds the House Appropriations Committee members for voting to help strong funding for Conservation Operations and a major enhance in Conservation Technical Assistance that farmers and ranchers want to undertake new conservation practices that enhance the sustainability and profitability of their household farms.”

“We hope that when the Senate considers appropriations later this 12 months, that they select to enhance funding for analysis packages which might be important to assist farmers meet the problem of local weather change induced extreme climate. Most importantly, together with full funding for the Sustainable Agriculture Research and Education (SARE) program at $60 million and will increase to the Organic Transitions Program (ORG) and the Grazing Lands Conservation Initiative (GLCI).”
