Agreement Reached To Open Two Lanes At Coutts Border Crossing

A lawyer representing truckers blocking entry to a southern Alberta border crossing says they’ve agreed to open some blocked lanes.

Chad Williamson says vehicles and different automobiles have begun to clear one northbound and one southbound lane close to Coutts following discussions with the R-C-M-P.

Travellers and cross-border truckers had been stranded since Saturday, when the blockade was arrange in solidarity with a significant protest in Ottawa towards COVID-19 vaccine mandates and different restrictions.

Police tried to peacefully break up the demonstration yesterday, however backed off when demonstrators breached a close-by checkpoint.
