New Delhi: After his visit to Jammu and Kashmir, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will head to Mumbai on Sunday (April 24, 2022) to receive the first Lata Deenanath Mangeshkar Award.
Paying tributes to the legendary singer, PM Modi stated that Lata Mangeshkar all the time dreamt of a powerful and affluent India and contributed to nation-building.
“Tomorrow night, I can be in Mumbai the place I’ll receive the first Lata Deenanath Mangeshkar Award. I’m grateful and humbled by this honour related to Lata Didi. She all the time dreamt of a powerful and affluent India and contributed to nation-building,” PM Modi stated in a tweet on Saturday.

The award, notably, has been instituted in reminiscence and honour of the legendary singer who handed away on the age of 92 years in Mumbai earlier this yr.
The Master Deenanath Mangeshkar Smruti Pratishthan Charitable Trust had stated in a press release that the award can be given yearly to a person “who has made path-breaking, spectacular and exemplary contributions to our nation, its folks and our society.”
